Go south over Tower Bridge (great views) to the 'South Bank Walk', a popular pedestrianised route from the Design Museum to the London Eye with major attractions along the way - HMS Belfast, The London Dungeons, The Shard (Europe's tallest building), The Golden Hind, Borough Market, Shakespeare's Globe, Tate Modern, The National Theatre and Royal Festival Hall, to name only a few. On the other bank, the Thames Walk brings Wapping with it's cobbled streets and ancient pubs - at least three claim to be the oldest Thames tavern - probably true as Dickens, Pepys, and Samual Johnson were all known patrons.Going north it's a five minute walk to 'Wiltons' - Europe's oldest surviving music hall and still entertaining; and then on to vibrant Brick Lane, Shoreditch and Spitalfields markets for some seriously funky shopping.
