This property is certainly unique and one of our favourites. While in the heart of London's Square Mile would you believe you'll have views of a lake a Roman wall and a 14th century church (built in 1394). Spacious and well set out this Grade II Listed Building located in a private gated square is a super base for a family or group of friends visiting London.Enter the house on the ground floor and there is a spacious bedroom with a King-size bed a large mirror-fronted wardrobe a dressing table and chair stool bedside tables and a leather sofa. This bedroom has warm-coloured furnishings plenty of storage space and looks out onto the Roman Wall.On the first floor you'll find an office with a sofa bed which folds out to a double bed for two guests a desk and chair a TV and a balcony. This room has its own terrace and you can look out onto the Roman Wall the church and one of the Barbican lakes. There is a family bathroom on this floor which has all white fittings with a shower head over the bath a sink and a towel rail. There is also a separate loo.Up another floor and there is another bedroom which has a single bunk bed and a child's desk underneath and a single child's bed. In this room and others you'll find workspaces should you have any pending paperwork!Head up a few more stairs and on the third floor is one of the two spacious and bright living spaces. The lounge offers lovely views of some of the stunning architecture nearby and has three comfy sofas for relaxing on after a busy day exploring. There is a glass coffee table a TV DVD player video recorder lots of dvds videos and books some interesting artwork and even a piano. At the front of the house and up on a raised split level you'll find the contemporary kitchen and dining space. There are wooden fitted cupboards and all the amenities you will need including a huge fridge/freezer and a TV. The dining area has a wooden dining table and chairs and a sideboard. The washing machine and dryer are in a separate utility area in the garage. For the master bedroom head up to the fourth floor. On the landing before you reach it there is another exit onto the Barbican Highwalk and a separate loo/cloakroom. The master bedroom is stylish and decorated with muted purples and creams. There's a king-sized bed chests of drawers 2 bedside tables and a large wardrobe. There's also a TV and DVD player and the en suite bathroom is very modern with his and hers sinks a loo a dressing area with a vanity mirror and a glass shower unit. If you carry on to the top floor you'll reach the fantastic sun room a second spacious and bright reception room. There's a sofa and two armchairs a TV DVD and CD player a glass table with chairs and French windows which open out onto the pretty roof terraces on either side. Outside there are lots of potted plants and sun loungers. On the South-West terrace look out to the City skyscrapers and down to Monkwell Square. To the North-East you have the lovely views of the lakes Roman wall and the old stone church. This generously proportioned house is in a fantastic location in Central London. You have the Barbican Arts Centre with its concert hall theatre 3 cinemas and restaurants and bars as well as the Museum of London and some amazing architecture right on your doorstep and you're walking distance to both Clerkenwell with its boutique shops and cafes and the Victoria Embankment, an iconic area of London. A walk along the river in the evening is a must and the view from Waterloo Bridge is one of the best in the Capital. St. Paul's Cathedral is around an 8 minute stroll away and you'll also find Gordon Ramsey's Bread Street Kitchen and Jamie Oliver's Barbecoa restaurants around this area too.
Famous tourist attractions like The Tower of London Tower Bridge Millennium Bridge St Katherine's Dock Monument the Golden Hind and HMS Belfast are all within walking distance. Being in the heart of the City there's no shortage of restaurants and bars. Head to Smithfield Market a modern-day meat market on whose site there's been a market since the twelfth century. It's also where the Scottish revolutionary Sir William Wallace was put to his death in 1305. Surrounding the market is Smiths of Smithfields home to 4 floors of food and drink with fine dining and super views on the top floor. You'll find many other restaurants and bars on nearby St John Street and the surrounding area. Head north and you'll reach Islington to the west is Covent Garden and Oxford Street southwards is St Paul's Cathedral the Tate Modern and the River Thames. Go East and you will find Hoxton Shoreditch and Brick Lane. Farringdon Barbican Liverpool Street St Paul's City Thameslink and Moorgate stations are all under 1 mile away so you'll be perfectly placed to discover more of the Capital's delights.For transport you are only a 6 minute walk from Moorgate tube station which joins the Metropolitan Circle Hammersmith & City and Northern lines. This is a great hub to be near and can connect you to so many areas of London. From here you are only 2 stops from London Bridge for the famous Borough Market with its food and drink and 3 stops from King's Cross for National and International connections. Covent Garden with its piazza designer shops upmarket restaurants and street performers is close by or the Southbank has a thriving theatre scene as well as lots more bars and restaurants to enjoy a bite to eat while the sun goes down.Head to Knightsbridge in West London for Harrods and Harvey Nichols Notting Hill for the Portobello Road markets and Chelsea for upmarket restaurants and luxury boutique shops.
