This beautifully decorated family home is located in the leafy country-like village of Barnes nestled by the meander of the River Thames. A short walk away is Castelnau and the famous London Wetlands Centre.The house is situated on a residential street less than 5 minutes walk from Castelnau for shops and restaurants. On the ground floor of the property is an elegantly decorated living room with wooden floors and patterned rugs leading through to the eat-in kitchen at the rear with its access to the garden. The living area has comfortable seating a feature fireplace a flat-screen TV and an impressive crystal chandelier which adds sophistication. The sizeable kitchen has lovely nautical-themed art on the walls and skylights over the dining area which fills the room with natural light. It boasts a modern design with a breakfast bar island and up-to-date facilities such as a range cooker and large fridge-freezer. Patio doors open on to a pleasant paved garden lined with plants where guests can enjoy dining al fresco on those lovely summer days! On the lower level of the house is an informal TV room with a big flat-screen TV and a huge array of DVDs for guests to enjoy! Across the corridor is a smart bedroom furnished with a generous bed and the comfort of a modern en-suite shower room. You will also find the utilities/laundry room on this level. The elegant master bedroom is located on the first floor of the house and has a comfortable double bed chaise longue and large built-in wardrobes allowing ample storage space. The family bathroom is across the hall and well finished with a full tub and an overhead shower. On the top floor of the house is the third bedroom which is ideal for a couple who require extra privacy and the comfort of an en-suite shower room. The bedroom is minimal yet well finished with built-in wardrobes for storage and a large double bed. Barnes is a wonderful place to stay in London; it has a real country and village like feel with lots of green spaces. Almost on your doorstep is the wildlife haven that is the London Wetlands Centre with its 100 acres of natural riverside marshland habitat and 180 species of birds. The Centre runs guided tours every day as well as fun activities for families.There are plenty restaurants and pubs in the village with many located riverside offering scenic views! Castelnau and Church Road offer a good selection of shops restaurants and supermarkets. Sonnys Kitchen is a great choice for Modern European dining and Spoonful is an excellent café nearby with delicious pastries and cakes!Across the river is Hammersmith Underground station (10 minutes away by bus) with major train lines allowing you to easily reach Central London. The District line will take you to Westminster for Buckingham Palace in 20 minutes whilst the Piccadilly line is great for reaching Leicester Square in the West End. It also passes through Knightsbridge where you can alight for luxury shopping in Harrods!
